Got his little beauty in the mail yesterday, it's the new Bark River Knife & Tool "Sperati Point", part of a series of classic knives inspired by the Old Wade & Butcher Line of the early 1900s.

Mine is stacked leather with 12C27 steel.

Sperati Point was the name of one of Teddy Roosevelts ranches I think?

Quite nice and definitely "Old School." Or maybe what ya carried while skipping school to go hunting and fishing.

Have you got any "in hand" shots?

Can you picture it with some type of measuring device?

I am thinking of getting one of these for my Father, and like the gaurd.

I like a lot of other models they have, but they are pretty much gaurdless.

Will it be a user? How does it perform?

Where can you get the best price on this model?

Thanks a bunch.

First, the MALTESE CROSS and the second was the ELKHORN. He changed the name of the first to CHIMNEY BUTTE.
I have never seen those two words, Sperati Point, in any of TR'S books and I have read them all and own most of them.

My mistake, it wasn't one of his raches, it was a place he went to alot, it is now inside the Teddy Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota.

I'll try to get a shot "in hand" for you, but here are the specs:
Overall Length:9.250 Inches
Blade Length:4.750 Inches
Cutting Edge:4.250 Inches

I haven't had it long enough to really use it in 3 days, but it's well put together, the first thing that I noticed was how light it was, definitely not a knife that will drag you down carrying it. If you have ever held a Blackjack Trailguide, it pretty much the same knife but with a spearpoint blade.

Mine came from DLT Trading Company, they almost always have the best prices on BRK&T stuff.

Thanks.

BTW, while surfing around last night I saw someone reference the name in regards to one of TR's ranches. Perhaps that is where you picked the info up?

Maybe, or I just got the ranches confused, I have read "The Wilderness Hunter" by T.R., but haven't read his others. Gottem', just ain't got to them yet.

Here are the pictures you wanted.

Sperati Point with a ruler.

Sperati Point in hand. (FWIW, my palm is just over 3.5" in width)

I also took a few with my "baby", an Effingham era Blackjack Trailguide with stacked leather handles also. This knife has been one of my favorites for many years, it's starting to show it's age a little.
