I've only been visiting here for a little while but I can see this is my kind of place! Fertile ground for my budding interest in khuks (kooks also!)

It is a pleasure to be here. If you ever get the inkling, drop by ShopTalk sometime also to see the other end of knifemaking. So I hope you don't mind another nut around (someone seems to have shaken the tree lately!:D )

Welcome to the Cantina, Guy. I hate to be the one to break the news but your "budding interest" is most likely the onset of HIKV. There's no cure but it's a good ride. ;)
 
Welcome aboard. This is by far the most civil and cultured place on the forums. Until a UBDOTD goes up that is, then it can be a feeding frenzy. Any ribbing that goes on here is good natured though and this is the greatest group of guys I have encountered most anywhere.

I'm sure you'll find that your initial impression of this forum will continue to be true:) There are many nice and knowledeable friends here that really look out for each other. Great place!:D I'm usually around more than lately--in laws are in town and I'm working two jobs! Talk to you soon:)

Ah, the Cantina, that has a nice homey ring to it. I don't think I'm HIKV positive yet, maybe someone should send me a HI WWII model for "testing" to see!:D

Welcome Guy, but becarefull. I got my first HI Khukuri Last week. This week I ordered another and am saving up for more. When HIKV hit's it can hit HARD.

Purely for the sake of knowledge!:D Seriously, the more I see of HI and Uncle Bill here and what he has done for the kamis who work for HI the more impressed I am. Bill, my hats' off to you! I can't wait to get a HI khuk to see for myself the quality evident from this dedicated band of followers gathered here.

Notice how he mentions his newness, and then suggests someone not only send him a khuk " for research " ala Tsimi, but he even specifies an 18" WWII!!! ??? as the khuk to send him.

Methinks Silent either may have been lurking a teensy bit more than he wants to admit, or he has naturally good taste and is already hearing the call of a yet unnamed khuk whispering softly in his ear.;) :D

They are out for you now!!Don't trust Kos,or Wal. Paxton,or AC! THERE'S A GUY NAMED BLUES THAT'S ON VAC.(REALLY VISITING A GUY NAMED DOC)! **** the only one to trust is " ME"! :D

As everyone has said, this is a fine group. The comraderie and knowledge is obvious. Don't let that fool you. Although it is not readily noticeable, this group is split into two unreconcileable factions - Honest enthusiasts and (cough...khak :barf: ) researcher (s). Attempts to pluralize this latter group creates the humor that fuels our on going struggle for truth, justice, and enough forged spring steel to keep the HIKV at bay. Once infected, your only salvation is a regular dosage of Khukuricillan, administered by intrapostal injection (by nervous mailman), and participation in our group therapy progr..er, forum. Join us, and steel yourself (often) for the best :D
 
I must admit to having the master virus, KV and Rusty, thanks for acknowledging my good taste.:D Jim, I feel your pain! A guy can't show a genuine academic interest in anything without people jumping to conclusions of ulterior motives! By the way, perhaps someone should send me a M43 for "comparative analysis".:D
