I recently ordered a knife from The Northerner but by some error I received a different one.
They are nice people and offered to quickly make it right but I decided to keep what was sent. It makes a fine karda: 2.36 in. carbon steel blade (a little over a 1/16 in. thick and wickedly sharp) with a stacked reindeer horn and birch wood handle. Here are some pics of it:

Ripper, those tiny Scandi knives are great kardas. Unfortunately, there seems to be a collector interest that drives the prices up on eBay. My best finds have been at house sales -- tiny souvenir puukkos that are sharp as the dickens. I'll check out the source you were kind enough to post. Thanks.

Ripper, what was the original knife you ordered, I'd like to look at that.

Amazing at what a Real Survival knife looks like and made by, I think, the last nomads on the planet.
Being the Americanized brainwashed ndn that I am... I wasn't, wouldn't have been satisfied with this knife alone so I had to buy the Leuko & puukko combination, but they're both made by the saammis in one area or another of that part of the world by nomadic people anyway so I don't feel too bad.;) :p :D

Proof that we don't need sharpened prybars to survive and survive very nicely.:D
But damnit I still like all kinds of knives and have all my life so like the rest of you I have a good excuse and am in good company.:D :p

was a great companion to the Khukhuri. With them paired together it would make them unbeatable. I haven't met a Karda that I thought was worth a darn.
