Just like Pitdog I had a bit of a hangover and decided to have a lazy day. I've been doing a lot of mountain climbing lately and thought I'd take a break and go out to the swamp and mess around with the condor boomslang. Nothing to interesting just thought I'd share a few pictures. This place is my sanctuary and hunting grounds it's only about 2 miles from house and theres never anyone there until the two weeks during hunting season that's it so I always have this whole section of the national forest to myself.

Ahhhhhhhh - thanks VTguy17!!

We don't have snow here yet and i'm really needing a reminder. Looks like a great 'lazy' day.

now thats how you spend a lazy day! awesome pictures and gorgeous dog what kind is he/she?
also i've been looking at the boomslang, how do you like it?

edited to say: lucky! we dont have snow yet and probably wont get it in time for christmas.

I really like the boomslang, it's pretty heavy and it comes extremely dull out of the box. After an edge touch up it's a chopping beast though. I still prefer my HI khukuri for dirty work but I'm warming up to the boomslang pretty quick.

She's a long haired Siberian husky

The Boomslang is simply fun to say though!!!! I gotta admit it's an great example of genius marketing! I hope it's able to live up to the hype - good to hear your experience w/it was positive. Not everyone can afford a spendy Custom and the Boomslang (it's even fun to type!!!) seems like great design coupled with a reasonably 'easy-entry' price.

Nice wheel-gun btw!

Looks like a nice time. I miss the snow. Another holiday season in shorts and a tank top. It is not as great as you may think. I would give a weeks pay to wake up and have to shovel the drive way and scrape ice from my wind shield.

That looks like a good time!

What make and model is the wheelgun? I like the looks of it.

That's a Ruger SP-101 in .357 mag.

Oh I know it's not nice, I hate the heat. That's why I live in the north :)

Those are some really nice pics, it looks like a great time and place to relax with that beautiful dog. Thanks for sharing.

I love your pics buddy, these two should be in some kind of calendar ~

PS. I'm really liking the look of that Boomslang !!!

Camera's take pictures the same way firearms kill people or ink pens write novels or hammers build houses or ...... :D

I gotta say I found this thread because I'm interested in a boomslang, but forgot all about the knife looking at those great pic! Well done, and the dog is awesome!

Good snow pictures. We don't get much snow here. I like those smooth grips on your Ruger.

How did you know it was a Nikon? :)
A fair bet comes from reading the EXIF data in your image. A simple bunch that I can get out of that is this:EXIF IFD0 * Image Description = * Camera Make = NIKON * Camera Model = COOLPIX S8100 * Picture Orientation = normal (1) * X-Resolution = 300/1 ===> 300 * Y-Resolution = 300/1 ===> 300 * X/Y-Resolution Unit = inch (2) * Software / Firmware Version = COOLPIX S8100V1.1 * Last Modified Date/Time = 2011:12:17 14:26:03 * Y/Cb/Cr Positioning (Subsampling) = co-sited / datum point (2)EXIF Sub IFD * Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 10/8257 second ===> 1/825.7 second ===> 0.00121 second * Lens F-Number / F-Stop = 44/10 ===> ƒ/4.4 * Exposure Program = normal program (2) * ISO Speed Ratings = 160 * EXIF Version = 0220 * Original Date/Time = 2011:12:17 14:26:03 * Digitization Date/Time = 2011:12:17 14:26:03 * Components Configuration = 0x01,0x02,0x03,0x00 / YCbCr * Compressed Bits per Pixel = 4/1 ===> 4 * Exposure Bias (EV) = 0/10 ===> 0 * Max Aperture Value (APEX) = 36/10 ===> 3.6 Max Aperture = ƒ/3.48 * Metering Mode = pattern / multi-segment (5) * Light Source / White Balance = unknown (0) * Flash = Flash did not fire, auto mode * Focal Length = 160/10 mm ===> 16 mm * Maker Note = SOME LONG BLAH User Comment (Hex) = MORE LONG BLAH# User Comment Character Code = not defined# FlashPix Version = 0100# Colour Space = sRGB (1)# Image Width = 4000 pixels# Image Height = 3000 pixels# Image Source = digital still camera (DSC)# Scene Type = directly photographed image# Custom Rendered = normal process (0)# Exposure Mode = auto exposure (0)# White Balance = auto (0)# Digital Zoom Ratio = 0/100 ===> 0# Focal Length in 35mm Film = 89# Scene Capture Type = portrait (2)# Gain Control = n/a (0)# Contrast = normal (0)# Saturation = normal (0)# Sharpness = normal (0)# Subject Distance Range = unknown (0)EXIF IFD1 * Compression = JPEG compression (6) * X-Resolution = 300/1 ===> 300 * Y-Resolution = 300/1 ===> 300 * X/Y-Resolution Unit = inch (2) * Embedded thumbnail image: EXIF Interoperability IFD * Interoperability Index = R98 * Interoperability Version = 0100*** Searching Compression Signatures *** Signature: 0155D875C95B74D0F3C5835A62516F48 Signature (Rotated): 01D38A25358EB7649A254E19F1D46600 File Offset: 0 bytes Chroma subsampling: 2x1 EXIF Make/Model: OK [NIKON] [COOLPIX S8100] EXIF Makernotes: OK EXIF Software: OK [COOLPIX S8100V1.1 ]Lots of folk on photography forums leave that header in so others may see details of how an image was shot. On the other hand some folk don't want to have GPS data going out with their images so choose to remove it on cameras which do that.... and for whatever other reasons too. The EXIF is hardly honest though because it is easy to meddle with. For example yours may have been stripped out completely and totally bogus stuff stuck in to replace it. But then we're into a cynical land on looking at compression signatures and so on. In short, without going hardcore the EXIF is a reasonable assumption to run with.
