OK it's corney but for those who still appreciate quality service I would like to share a story. Since I started making blades I always stamped the blades with single letter stamps (simple "P-E-C-K"). But some of my knives were coming out with slightly off center "E"'s or "C"'s etc.. because I was doing them one letter at a time. So my mother asked what I wanted for Christmas this year and I though of a full stamp so I can stamp my name in one motion and not worry about offset letters. I did some research (on this forum) and someone reccomed Ed at CERMETALM@aol.com (he has a website but I have since lost it). I told my mother and she got me the stamp for christmas.
The stamp did come on time, but there was one letter that was slightly depressed on the stamp not giving me the sharp and consistant cut I was looking for. I metioned this to Ed via e-mail and he suggested that I try using a 4LB mallet instead of a hammer. I bought a 4LB mallet and still the same problem. I told Ed that I still didn't have the consistant cut I was looking for and sent him a picture of my stamp (not asking for anything in return). Within a couple of days I got a shiney new stamp in the mail free of charge and the thing cuts like a champ.
Just thought I would share for anyone looking for an honest stamp maker. Glad to have found Ed and glad for this forum!!
