Nice visit with John yesterday

I dropped by John's shop yesterday to talk about my new chopper and just shoot the breeze. We talked blades for awhile, had a couple of beers and just chilled. These are the kind of things you get when you become a customer of John's. Try finding that with a production or hell, even another custom knife maker.

I'm really excited about this chopper. This will be my first large fixed blade and I plan on using it to its full extent. So far the specs are: 14" overall, 5" black g-10 handle with hollow pins and green liners. 9" o1 3/16" thick full convex blade :) with a straight spine(sry, don't know the technical name for that blade shape)
Should be done mid April. I even heard rumor of a wip thread. I can't wait

Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy company, gets lonely sometimes when Connie is at work, just me and the dogs. I`ll give you guys a hint on Jeff`s chopper, it`s a combination of several of my patterns, with some of his ideas added, should be sweet!

Sounds like a great new knife!

Jeff - you are right, it is nice to just sit with Mr. K and talk about knives, guns and whatever.

Glad you were able to drop by - I wish I were a little closer so I could do so more often myself.

Wish I lived in your neck of the woods, John! It would be cool to drop in and see the shop someday.

It's a great day when you get to sit back and swap stories and play with knives with John.
I can't wait to see the new one.

Sounds like a good time, JK just seems like a good guy to down a couple brews with :)

Yes! I will try to avoid the blackout spell this time.

I still owe you some music too, Jeff! Let me see if email will work for a song or two.
