I knew this thing was some place. I haven’t seen it for at least ten years before a couple of days ago. Got it back in the mid-70’s, couldn’t pass up having a 110 style knife that said KA-BAR on it. Really mostly carried when I was hiking or camping, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise when I found it in an old box of camping gear. Didn’t take much to clean it up although I decided to leave the brass with the tarnish it’s collected, at least for the time being.

The etch on the blade is getting pretty faint, but it’s still legible.

Nice. I have a couple of them hiding in a box somewhere. Neither one has any etch showing. Seldom see them with the etch still visible.

Yea, I can't explain how the etch has lasted this long. That knife didn't exactly get babied. I've got to remember where the thread is that talks about enhancing these with salt water and a battery or such.
