Over a week ago I asked for help in fixing the handle of my new 18" AK which I bought as a blem. I got a lot of advice about mixing epoxy and wood dust together and the best way to effect the fix. I just have to say that you guys were right on the money. It really came out nice. Sanded to shape and stained, it almost looks like part of the original grain pattern. I couldn't be happier with the results the expertise on this forum has helped to produce. I really appreciate it guys (and gals). Thanks mucho.

Ben,
You are such a tease; how about some pics?:D

Greg

Greg, I need to find a digital camera and take a couple of pics. Hey, I'll just call my TechPilot (does the tech stuff) here at school and have him stop by. He'll have to download the info since I am not up to speed with some of that stuff. :)

One suggestion I have is to stain the wood dust (carefully)before you mix it with the epoxy. I didn't think of this. The solid epoxy makes staining more difficult.
