He did, he did! Last time I was over to visit him I noticed what looked like the end off a glove finger he was wearing on the finger supporting the blade while grinding. He wound up and gave me one of them. After running my left index finger into a new 50 hogger a couple of times yesterday I remembered it and put it on. Thanks Nick - wish I had thought of that earlier. First thing this morning I doused it w/ acetone yoooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww.

That's ok until it gets wet in the dip bucket and soon that poor old damaged finger starts to thinking it may be a lobster in the pot... :D

Nick Wheeler gave me the finger!

Yes.

Yes, I did!

:p

At least you remembered it before you ground off another finger ;)

Acetone in a good cut/grind abrasion sure wakes you up, now doesn't it?!?! Yee-Ouch!

Whatever you do Bill... don't go sticking it down in that quench bucket of yours. If you do, you will no doubt be in the ER in a couple days with some flesh eating bacteria running rampant throughout your body!!! ;)

Hope that "finger" helps :D

Nick I was working on a guard today and dropped it in the bucket. There are things in there that are ALIVE. I swear something bit me while I was fishing for the guard.

Bill I would say you was lucky it wasn't a kiss or worse.

As for your quench bucket being being nasty, yeah right, shoot I've seem pictures of your shop, you can eat off your press and then dip a cool clean drink of spring water from your quench bucket. I figure you grind 30 seconds and then change quench water and sweep the floor, then start again. :D :D :D :D

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

You need to see a REAL picture of his ACTUAL quench bucket Bill!

I had never seen a quench bucket that could cause steel to have a 0.025" thick coating of rust on a blade after a single dip, until I saw plain 'ol Bills!!! :D

I heard Tru Grit has these leather fingers by the pack. Is this the same thing (bacteria and unrinal functionality extepted)?

if your like me I'd wear out those finger gloves in a heartbeat. How long do you think that they last? I usually wear a light cotton glove with the finger wrapped in duct tape. That does HURT when it catches fire and melts on your skin

Would you recomend the leather finger covers?
