...is what happened when I resheathed my Sirupati without paying full attention to what I was doing.I'd just tapped the side of a tree that looked like a possible Barred Owl nest site,and caught the side of my hand instead of the sheath.Less than an inch cut,and not deep,plus I had bandaids with me,so no real damage other than annoyance at my carelessness.

For some reason I seldom get cut with any of my knives. I just get cut and scratched by everything else! I think I have conditioned myself to automatically be careful with "knives" but don't think about safety as much with other things that are sharp.

I checked my hands yesterday and discovered 4 small nicks, each about 1/4 inch and not deep -- the kind you get just handling khukuris. Didn't even know when I got them but good reminders not to hurry.
