Nickel Silver problems (HELP)

I bought some nickel silver a while back and it is doing something funny....It polishes to the nicest silver you ever saw then in a few days it starts tarnishing and instead of staying silver it starts turning a gold color,Not Brass but a shiney gold it is real faint at first then after time it gets real gold color.Even after polishing it looks this way in the light at diferent angles.
I just finished a knife up with this on it and I hope it doesnt make it look bad.
I bought it from a supplier at a gun and knife show in Memphise,Tn. so I don't remember the supp;iers name to ask questions about it.
Can someone please help....

The problem is that all metals sold as nickle/silver don't have the same makeup. Different levels of nickle or silver will cause the metal to oxidze to different colors.
Sounds like you got some low content alloy.

All the NS I have bought lately does the same thing as yours. I think it is the new stuff and we will have to like it. Personally I like the way it works and the looks aint bad either. Its still better than brass. Bruce B
