I for some reason thought the frame on the 110s in Nickel/Silver was Nickel plated Brass . What is it ? Thank's in advance !

Nickel silver is a kind of brass containing nickel that was invented to give the look of silver in a harder, more tarnish-resistant, and cheaper alloy. Its formulation is typically 60% copper, 20% nickel, and 20% zinc. It was developed in Germany in the 1800's by metallurgists attempt to imitate a popular copper-nickel used in China.

Thank you VTer , I like the look better then Brass for sure and for not tarnishing as easy . I wish Buck would make the frame on the 110 in stainless !

I wish the 501 came with stainless bolsters. They look great on my Duke, and it helps hide the pins. With nickel silver, once it develops a patina the pins stick out like sore thumbs.

I just got a 110 bg42 in Nickel and the pins already stick out !

VT got it. Nickel silver is a form of brass and harder. Although I think the formula has changed over the years. AS I noticed the nickel silver of the 90's was harder than the nickel silver pins of today. Not to leave out the possibility of changes among manufactures. DM
