I am having trouble accessing BCCI and a catalog and nothing on Buck website, so I thought I would ask you guys.

Other than the Chairman series, are there any production 110 or 112's out there or on store shelves in Nickle Silver bolsters. Not talking about custom shop offerings.

The Fishstalkers question about bolster tarnish got me to wondering.

Here's mine:

Thanks,,, I wonder why I didn't see that one... :(

Anyone seen any out in stores?

For example, take a gander @ post #43 of this Sunday's SPS, or the pic below. Yea. The NS 110 is production inventory for the artists re-creating Buck knives.

Oh, I well understand that. Search the threads if you wanna see my Michael Prather Painted Pony protos, and maybe some others. Or the club sambar droppies.

Too bad there aren't any out in the stores. I guess.... Was just curious.
I have plenty.. oops... Make that I have too many. :D

So I won't bother telling Fishstalker to shop the stores for NS that won't tarnish. ;)

Now I'm LOL.

I did exactly the same thing when I bumped into that link.

I did not intend to catch a net full of craftsmen. I can dish it out but I can't take it. Perhaps you will catch me up sometime. Funny for me seeing some of me in you. Thanks for your good humor.

I thought at one time those were a SMKW offering and not available in other stores or even through Buck.

Fellows,
There are different 'formulations' of nickle silver. Buy two cheap and tight leather sheaths, stick a USA 301 and a contracted one in each and let them set for a week. The NS will come out different colors. Our 'Homey' knife will be 'silver' the other less so...300

yes there are diff mixed of nickel silver or as it should more properly be known as
white brass ....
i will tell you that the nickel will corode faster then brass
get greener then brass
and is not as self lubing as brass
but many like its color ...
the liner lock 110 did not work well as well as a nickel frame
as it did in a brass one..
all the best sliver slipies have brass liners..

110 Dave that slab Lapis Lazuli was put into place by the hard rock genius Michael Hoover just North of me (redrummd@comcast.net). There are a few more, and different pics in last Sunday's picture show hosted by our good friend ITE. Thanks for noticing it. I couldn't be more tickled with how it turned out and consider it the apex of my interest in Jewelry/precious/cutlery.

Michael Hoover, AKA redrummd, has his own forum now here on Bladeforums: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...to-the-new-Art-In-Stone-Redrummd-knives-Forum

His terrific work with Lapis Lazuli was the high point in a life-long quest for that uniquely-colored blue stone in a perfect setting.

I missed out on a trek to that neck of the woods, Afghanistan, back in the 70's. My friend went without me and returned with tales of eating off Lapis Lazuli plates while living there.

I gotta post some pics over there. Michael Hoover is a rock specialist that also pimps knives. He was able to locate a deep dark blue chunk of Lapis Lazuli exactly as I wanted. He works with real rock. It is doubtful that such stone would be easy to locate today.
