Nicks Moc Toe Wedge Boots, Any Thoughts?

Hi there,

I want to buy a pair of Nicks Moc Toe Wedge boots. Consider that they will be mostly for casual wearing, no hard work use by any stretch.

I live in VA, far away from Nicks to give them a try, so before paying $525-$625, I was wondering if any one of you has them, and what do you think about them. I am totally sure about the quality, I am mainly wondering about comfort and the break in time. I have an old injury in my left knee and lower back, and I usually use gel insoles in all of my boots, but if the boots are not comfortable, no gel insoles can correct that, and it could trigger some serious problems.

Any thoughts/recommendations are appreciated.

I don't have the moc toe but I do have their Manito for casual wear. The break in wasn't as bad as I had heard and the comfort for me is another level w/ the 55 last. I have several pair of White's boots & oxfords and have always considered them to be the pinnacle , however the build quality of the Nick's I feel is superior. My next pair will be their Traveler, it's the same boot you want w/o the moc toe. Order one sized down & follow the guide for the width, you won't be sorry!

I’ve come very close to ordering a pair of Moc toe Nicks boots but the expense and breakin period had me hold off. I’ve had to breakin one too many boots this past year for work and decided to go with something a little different.

I ordered a pair of Truman cognac shrunken Bison Moc toe boots for work. I believe Nicks offers this leather in their limited run boots but maybe not in a Moc toe.

This is a thicker leather but with a much softer temper that should not have any significant break in time. I’ll report back once they arrive.

Thank you for the recommendation. You confirmed my concerns. Your Truman looks great. I’ve never heard of them before, but they are definitely worth a try. I went the safe route this time and got myself a pair of Red Wings. I shall try the Trumans in the winter.

No moc toes but own several pairs and have been nothing but happy with them
