Ran across some knives today on that German site, Toolshop. Nieto. Not only do I know nothing about them, I never even heard of them. General comments appreciated.

Nieto is a Spanish knife manufacturer that makes a pretty good knife. They use 440C, a very good steel, and their prices are reasonable. I am not fond of the style of their knives. The look just doesn't appeal to me.

I HAVE heard of'em! Well made, usual
"European" quality ; I think it was
a "stilttoe-type blade" I was gandering at in the page(s) of
Atlanta Cutlery's catalog eons ago.
Here's the "pathway" :

Happy Hunting! ( if this is the brand you're going for!)

AET ;)

I bought one years ago, before knowing much about knives. I would say it's a 'POS' manufacturer, can't even get an edge on one. I would avoid them if I was you.

Have owned several. Good blades - good construction. There least expensive models may not be worth owning, but you could say the same for any number of other manufacturers. Still have two 8" bowies in my user drawer.
For me the handles have never been quite right ergonomically or in materials used and the sheaths - although nice - carry the knives very low. The larger wood and brass bowies are quite heavy.
I have modified the handles on mine and am quite happy with the two I have.
I purchased a Muela Condor last week at the show in Sevierville. This is the nicest Spanish fixed blade I have owned to date.
See a picture of this knife and a whole lot of other nice Muela knives at:

i just bought a little nieto folder, for the steel, 440c, seems to be good value, not so suer about the handle though
