I'm interested in the GEC nifebrite glow in the dark material. I know they're making several styles with the handle material. Any pics welcomed. Have other knife makers made glow in the dark handle material or blade coatings?

"Traditional knives with glowinthedark blade coatings?"
Good Heavens no.

"Traditional knives with glowinthedark covers?"
I'm not sure, but I don't think so.

Other than GEC's as mentioned, the only other I know of is the StayGlo handles on the Victorinox SAK's.

Yup,here it is on a Rambler.

The Camco Dick Tracy from the 40's comes to mind, it seems a few of the old novelty and fishing oriented knives had glow covers.

That rambler is pretty bright! The GEC Nifebrite farm and field 99 is looking pretty cool as is the 15 single blade.

Not really traditional knives, but Daniel Fairly (in hosted makers section) uses different glow in the dark materials for scales every now and then.

Here's mine. My first of the 15 pattern. Even though it was taken outside in pretty good light, it still had that luminous look to it.

I like it so well, I'm seriously considering another knife in the material.

Wow, Ed... I've been eyeing a #15 lately, but that nifebrite spear-point has definitely upped it to a "must-have" status!

Now that looks good! You guys are making me shop again!

I've got a 99 farm and field lock blade in nifebrite on the way. We'll see how it is.

Cool pics, Randy! I have to admit that I've been intrigued by these. On a night not too long ago when the full moon was low in the sky, I thought to myself that it would make a neat pic to have the glowing knife with the moon in the background.

Camco did a bunch of glow in the dark covers as novelty/kids knives back in the day. The Dick Tracy model mentioned by sam is one example. I think the nifebrite would make a fine camping companion!

Now that farm & field & fish with nifebrite is one I never thought of but it makes perfect sense for a fishing knife.
