My life pretty much evolves around my daughter after her arrival 4 months ago. This weekend happens to be different
My wife went oversea with a group of friends so I am all alone with my daughter. Fortunately, I managed to work out something with my helpful parent in law and left my gal with them for the night.
Out came these gears which I have not get the chance to use for a long time.
The top knife is a Randall #15 and the knife in the middle is the GSO5.1. I received these a while ago but have not get the chance to use them. The knife at the bottom is the CPK(aka NTM) Light Chopper which I received this week.
This is my first hike in 6 months so it is a fairly short one. The main purpose was to test out the performance of the Light Chopper on some bamboo. Unfortunately, the hike was cut short due to the thick muddy ground created by the heavy down pours these few days. I cannot afford spending hours to wash off the mud. However, I did tested it on some dried hard wood which I will share on the CPK subforum. Back to GSO5.1 now.
My mate brought along his UV LED light and we spotted quite a few scorpions along the trail. This is one of the largest we saw.
The scorpions are pretty timid and will start to curve their legs close to the body to reduce their profile when they are scared. Hence, we need to be very slow to get close to it for the shots.
We met 2 guys at this spot. They were done with their fishing and were walking out of the forest. They were the ones who warned us about the mud.
I did not get to use the GSO5.1 much as we decided to turn back from there. I took another picture of it before we left.
I will try to find time to go there again to complete the hike.
Cheers!
