Night Vision gear

Yesterday I picked up a night vision monucular. It is a russian night vision gen1. (Newcon Optik) I only payed 140 for it so I think that overall it would be a good toy to start out with. Could I get some tips on feeding and care of this?

I've had a simple night vision monocular for a while. I don't know what sort of care and feeding is necessary, other than what you would do for a regular optic, and don't expose the night vision to bright light.

One thing I use mine for, especially on a nice clear night in winter, is as a telescope. It is incredible, how many more stars you can pick out.
