Night vision recommendations

What night vision do people here on the forum recommend? Not interested in a rifle scope, just something to check out the wildlife when I'm camping. A monocular setup is fine. Something relatively inexpensive.

I'd say out of budget options Bushnells Equinox is decent, Steiner has some good models I'm pretty sure, can't really recall name of the model though. Those should be around 300-400, wouldn't go much lower for night vision since its questionable quality at that point.

I'd recommend also picking up an IR illuminator (fancy term for IR flashlight). Can help a lot on darker nights, especially with the more budget night vision options. They range in price as well but I've had luck with streamlight's super tac IR. Beware that some animals (and to some extent people) can see the 850nm IR illuminator light, but if you aren't hunting it shouldn't be an issue. It just gives off a ruby glow from the light lens.
