Has anyone done a comparison between the Nightcutter 5C and the Inova X5? I have the Nightcutter and it doesn't seem all that bright. I compared it to a standard flashlight and the old fashioned bulb light was brighter than te LEDs of the 'cutter. New batteries perhaps?

dont have a 'cutter but my X5 isnt all that bright, certainly nothing at all like a surefire, a good general use light though i guess, but not as bright as i would like.

I have Nitecutters and Inovas. They are both real handy as small, close-up lights -- you don't always want to illuminate half the neighborhood. :)

And both use the same lithium 123 batteries as the Surefires. In fact, after the Surefire has "depleted" its batteries, you can move them to the Nitecutter or Inova and get more service time out of them, so these LED lights can be run for free.

They make great emergency lights and backups in the car and around the house.

The Inova X5-T is a great personal floodlight. I carry one every day in a belt sheath. It is superb for illuminating your path as you walk the dog before turning in. It is also great for lighting up that corner of your closet/garage that is always shrouded in darkness. It lights up your immediate area. It does not throw light. It will not show you what's scurrying underneath that car parked across the lot. That's what the Inova XO3 is for. :D

I have the inova 5X and the nightcutter with the 3 led bulbs, I agree it is good for walking the dog etc, it does get dimmer as the batteries drain down, the nightcutter is also much smaller then the inova which make it esair to carry.
I heard (here on BF i think) nightcutter isn't selling flashlights anymore, so maybe this is moot now.
