I, among others here am a Nighthawk fan. I believe they have a great bladeshape and provide great value.
I understand that the Nighthawk was submitted to the Navy for trials as a SEAL knife. From what I have read and heard, it was not selected due to its lack of serrated psine and lanyard hole. Both of these items make perfect sense to me for riverine and other waterborne ops.
Here's my question: Were these specifications made known to potential vendors prior to the trials? Was there ever a report available on the Navy's findings of the knives submitted.
Though I wish there was a model available with ATS-34/CPM-154 or BG-42, I really find this knife hard to beat in design, shape, and value.
Now, about those serrations and a lanyard hole?
