I'm considering buying the short nighthawk knife. I have a couple 110, but want a fix blade. Either form of the nighthawk fits my budget. But the short version caught my attention. My question is. How is the knife? Has anyone had any experience with it? There's no reviews for the short nighthawk on the buck website. Only reviews I found was on Amazon. Would like to hear from anyone how the nighthawk handles. Thanks in advance

I have the old original short. I love it. It was my very first fixed and I used the crap out to it, to the point where the rubber nubs are all gone. What do you plan to use the knife for? It might not be the best for your intentions, as good as a knife as it is.

Strange thing is as of right now I don't really need the nighthawk. But I've always like the look of it. I use to go camping and hiking but haven't done so in a while. Thinking of getting back into camping and hiking again. Knife might come in handy then. In the process of buying a house. Was thinking the nighthawk could possible be used around the house. But not sure about that thought. How did you use the nighthawk? It sounds like it held up to abuse.

Buying a house

Walls being moved a BK 9 or Bk20 if you can find any
Love my Bucks more than most but the 124 as Much lust and love for the Becker 9 has done more than any blade I own so if a blade for hard use a BK9
Best slicer a buck 121 I like fish live near the ocean
Steak reach for my fisk
Budget we all stretch time to stretch IMO

Wasn't looking to cut walls or anything. The new house has a big back yard with a fair amount of brush. Was thinking about brush, possibly the tougher boxes when I move. Thanks for the suggestions on a good slicer.

But my primary reason for looking at the nighthawk was to have decent or good knife when I get back into camping

I had the longer one when they first came out. I miss that one. Now I have the shorter model with serrated blade. They have a nice comfortable grip and a really great place for the thumb. They feel really good in the hand. I just measured the blade and it's a full 1/4 inch thick at it's thickest point and it really looks it. I never torture tested these knives but they have been handy in a variety of ways. I certainly never feared that I would break one. The main purpose of this knife is protection though and I always felt safe when I brought one of these along. Nice knives.

Not a fan of the newer Tops collaboration Nighthawks but love the older models. All sorts of flavors for every need. IMHO the Buck Nighthawk series is way under appreciated and a real value.

Nice knife, very comfortable, and stands up to torture just fine. There are better camping knives out there that are suited for Bush craft and camp chores.
