I have a old Buck "Nighthawk" that I bought at a gunstore years ago. I've never used it for anything, ever, it's just snoozed away in my gun safe all this time.
It has an all-black blade and pebbled, hard-rubber handle and on the blade is inscribed:
BUCK
650/
u.s.a
pat. pend.
I'm sure I've had it for at least 10 years, perhaps closer to 15. I've been researching the archives here, trying to find out more info on this particular version of the Nighthawk. I'm assuming it's the 420 HC steel, and I'd be curious to know if it's as serviceable a knife as the newer Nighthawks are.
If anybody knows where I can find a more belt-friendly sheath, other'n this black nylon "BUCK" factory sheath, I'd be grateful to know.
Thanks so much...
