Nilakka re-grind/re-release?

Hi, I was just wondering if Spyderco plans on releasing the Nilakka with a different grind. I know that there were some issues regarding the edge retention due to the scandi grind and also heard that they were going to address those issues and release a version with a different grind. Any info? Thanks.

They've been putting on a microbevel and shipping them out for quite a while now. It was the full flat zero grind that made the edge too fragile to be useful for much. The 30 degree microbevel fixed that.

Okay, thanks. I already have one without the microbevel and wanted to get one where the "issues" were addressed. I just didn't know how they were addressed/resolved.

how to know if the new model has the microbevel? i mean i'm afraid to buy an old version

Guys it's not like the first run was defective. The very edge on a grind like this is so thin that it's almost impossible to grind without getting that very thin edge too hot and ending up brittle. All you need to do is give it a good sharpening and you'll be fine. That's funny. Every time I get mine below 20° included and 0.005" behind the edge, it gives out just like it did with the original edge.

I ended up adding my own microbevel.

I've done secondary bevel a couple of times, right now I have it convexed.
