Hi guys and girls! :)

Today, I would like to present my unique pocket knife - nilte QUIETE White G10 Stone Wash.

The knife was made in Maniago, in Italian city known from the manufacturing of knives and it was designed by Massimo Fantoni. After the experience gained in the family business (Fantoni srl) and thanks to two significant people in the world of cutlery - Bill Harsey and Chris Reeve - Massimo decided to go his own path. This is how the QUIETE was born - the first nilte knife.

Because the knife by its very nature is a tool, and it is not intended to kill, QUIETE is positioned as the S.U.T. - Sport Utility Tool. For the reasons of safety the blade of the knife is a modification of the shape of the sheepsfoot blade, so it has no aggressive tip. This protects against accidental injuries when the QUIETE is used as a rescue knife. The initial notch in the blade serves as a safely support for the finger. The knife should be opened with both hands, which is probably a continuation of the Sport Utility Tool idea, and thanks to that this knife is legal in many European countries.

The blade and the spring are made of a very good steel - Sandvik 14C28N hardened to 59/60 HRC. When cutting you can feel its smoothness and its distinct advantage over the 12C27 steel, which I met in the French Laguiole knives. On the back of the blade are undulating grooves named Wave Thumb Serration.

There are ten different versions of this knife, but only 66 pieces in the world was made of this white Quiete version. The handle is made of white rough G10 in which the Pure Back Lock mechanism is placed - minimalistic modern interpretation of a backlock. As for the knife with G10 handle, its appearance has nothing to do with its military ancestors, I would describe it as a sporty elegance. The Pure Back Lock spring is flexible in the middle. It flexes when pressed and then it raises the front part to release the blade.

Holding the knife in my hand, I can definitely say that every design detail has been carefully thought and made at the highest quality. The flat grind is perfectly symmetrical at both sides. The cutting edge is factory sharpened to a level of shaving hairs from hands. The initial notch at the beginning of the cutting edge is slightly polished so it is comfortable for the forefinger.

This pocket-sized knife is by far the most ergonomic, lightest and versatile of all my EDC knives. You can hold it in several ways, and each time my fingers are exactly there where they should be. The Quiete gives the perfect control, because the back edge is made to be held by fingers. The knife handle is flat, it has a one centimeter in thickness and it fits very well in the pocket. It surprise me also that with such a minimal design does not have any blade play, the blade is located exactly in the middle when closed and accidental opening is impossible. At the end, at both sides of the handle are holes for the cord. The box includes a yellow cord.

In summary, this is a pocket knife that will work in everyday use and also at the camping. It can be used as a rescue knife in the car, but on the other hand - as the modern gentleman folder. Because the Quiete is very elegant and it has quite revolutionary appearance like the first white iPhone it will also fit into a women's handbag.

Great pics wish it was one-hand opening but I see why it would be two-handed for the European market

What is the blade length? The text says 6.4 cm but it looks longer than the Enzo blade.

Here's a nice video by The Edge Observer that details the specs out for you

Thank You Guys!
Together with the one hand opening system and a pocket clip the nilte Quiete would be my perfect knife in Poland, so now it is very, very good knife only ;)

Yes, this is very interesting and it looks like each manufacturer does the measurement of the blade length otherwise, so their specifications can be little confusing. In the Quiete knife specification nilte company writes 64 mm of the blade lenght, but in reality it is the lenght of the cutting edge only. The blade lenght from the end of the handle is 75 mm, and 85 mm from the beggining of the blade spine. Whereas the EnZo PK70 knife has the 70 mm of the blade lenght from the end of the handle, and it has 65 mm cutting edge.

Even the Boker Thorn Mokuti (66mm) has the greater length than Quiete (64 mm) given in the specification, but in reality and on the pictures you can see how much larger the nilte folder is.

How thin is this blade ground down to? a measurement just above the edge bevel area? of course that depends on how you sharpen it ;)

Thanks in advance,
G2

Unfortunatelly I don't have a vernier caliper so it is difficult to measure precisely, but with the help of the ruler this measurement is about 0,5 - 0,6 mm.
I use angle 20° on the Lansky Turnbox to sharpen it ;)

Thanks for the try :) sounds like it is not very thin but should still cut well I would think.

Yes, Quiete cuts apples and paper very smoothly, shaves hairs at ease and in addition has the best ergonomics compared to all my knives. The blade is quite high with full flat ground and with this edge geometry the 14C28 steel works very effectively.
