Has anyone out there used a nimravus for a dive knife? I was thinking of using my full size ats-34 combo edge. ?????

It is an absolutely wonderful snorkeling knife, that's for sure!

I used my Nimravus (ATS34, old-style full kydex sheath) this past January snorkeling off Grand Cayman Isle on a daily basis. It held up superbly. I had a little vial of Rem Oil that I used treat it (knife and sheath hardware) after each use (after rinsing in fresh water), and it did just fine. The blackened stainless clip developed some spot rust, but cleaned up nicely.

While there, I also snorkeled with my BM705S Mini Axis which also performed well. I gave the same after-salt water treatment with fresh water and oil, and it developed no surface stains whatsoever.

I don't know much about the newer Nimravus sheaths, but as long as every piece of hardware is stainless, you shouldn't have a problem if you treat it the same afterwards.

Professor.

I am currently testing my M2 Nimravus in salt water, fresh water and sweat to see how it holds up. In ATS-34 there should be absolutely no problem. Its a great design. The tip is WAY stronger than you might think. Incidentally, my Stryker is ATS 34 and shows no signs of problem whatsoever in and out of salt water.
