Kinda want to get a Nimravus, I think. All my knives (99%) are users. What do you Nimravus owners Use them for?

Um, I think a better question would be what not to use it for. Obviously, it is too small to be a machete, but I haven't found a knife that size which is more versatile.

The only reason I ask is that I have hunting, camping, survival and pocket knives and use them for what I believe are their intended uses.

It's obviously not going to replace my A-1 or Project 1, nor will I carry it everyday with a suit and tie as I do my Osborne 940.

It's seems like a nice knife and was sort of looking for a niche use within my collection.

Hey Nimrod..

The Nimravi are Both great knives,,but in my opinion at pretty much limited in their use..
I know Eutopia uses it for just about everything

I look at it more for a self defence blade myself, as I have a number of knives that will handle most other chores.

Depending on what you plan on useing the knife for,, I think it would make a Great addition to a collection...

Is the sheath and overall "package" such that it is compact or as bulky as a larger knife would be.

I was thinking about using it for outdoor tasks, away from sheeple, in lieu of a "sport utility folder."

After all, the best lock is a fixed blade, full tang!

I can't think of any use for the Nimravus though I own one.
In the towns and cities, I carry a folder cause it's easily conceal compared to the Nimravus, in the Highlands, I carry the CS Recon Tanto cause I need the length.
I think I should seriously think of what's the use for this knife. Maybe in the car.

Hey Nimrod...

The sheaths is somewhat bulky and cumbersome on the Nimravus. This is one of the reasons I make an aftermarket sheath both both Nims..

James Mattis at www.chaicutlery.com

Carries both Nimravi bundled with my Nim sheaths..Look him up.
Pictures can also be seen on my site of the sheath.

Tennessee...

I also make an aftermarket for the CS Recon Tanto,,if you are interested..

I think the Nimravus is a great knife, very well designed. I had to modify the sheath (to IWB) for concealed carry and it took me two hours to thin out the secondary bevels, but now it works great. I use mine almost daily in the kitchen, I sometimes carry it off-duty (IWB) or on duty (attached to vest or boot), I use it when canoeing and for camp kitchen stuff and where I want corrosion resistance (I've even used it as a diving knife). It is a very useable knife, excellent design and lightwieght. I went with the ATS-34 full size, plain edge. I like the M2 steel better but for this knife I needed corrosion resistance.

You might want to also check out Newt Livesay's Air Assault. It's about the same price, built like a tank and has the best ergonomics of ANY knife I have used. It is shown here with a Concealex sheath that I made for it.

I've kept mine as all-weather hiking/hunting/camping knife and hasn't put me down.

So I find it perfect as a outdoors knife; as a daily knife at work in an office I prefer folders (for opening letters, cutting rope etc.).

The blade is not too long and so it is suitable for scaling a fish or chipping wood, for example.

Blade shape is perfect for my needs and so are balance and weight too.

Sure this one doesn't belong into "for sale/trade" -section in my "collection".
