Hi and welcome to the forum! We actually have a section just for balisongs/butterfly knives, I'm sure this thread will get moved there pretty soon.

um... knives labeled "NINJA" are seldom well made.

The Manilla Folder is a great vintage 80's balisong actually. Nice construction. It's a classic.

Despite the idiotic name and packaging, those are actually decent balisongs (the proper name for "butterfly" knives) made by Taylor-Seto in the 80's. They're called "Manila" folders because the latch is on the "safe" handle (the style common to Manila, Philippines), as opposed to the Batangas style, where the latch is on the "bite" handle (this style is far more common with modern balisongs). It's hard to see from the photos, but it looks like one knife has brass handles, the other has steel.

I'm no expert appraiser, but my guess that this set might be worth around $100-120. If they were mint and didn't need cleaning up, maybe $150. Pretty rare set.

The box made me giggle a bit.

I have no experience with balisongs but many people in the balisong section will probably be able to help you out.

That is so classic 80s! I love it!

Ninjas were so much the rage back then.
Fun times!

I'd rather have that Topps Heritage (I assume) Johan Santana baseball card. But I collect baseball cards. The knives don't look half bad though.

Yet another example of why you can't judge something by looks alone.

Agreed, the packaging is idiotic--but that's probably why they're a rare set now.

Nice find!
