I have some videos clips I made today, if someone will post them in this thread for me.
I will email them to you if you will volunteer to do me this service.
I did :
Bo shuriken VS. pumpkin
senban shuriken Vs. pumpkin
Tora Crescent Moon Sirupati VS. pumpkin

shoot me an email...I can host-n-post 'em until Satori (the vid king) comes back.

I sent them to Dave. This morning they all look pretty stupid to me, but I thought it might be something fun during the holiday break.
(no sales)
Geeze, I make no comments about these videos. Just random violence towards a vegetable.

I'll have them up shortly. I can't access the FTP site from my laptop, but I can't receive email on the desktop. (My computers are crazy. Don't ask.) After I get them transferred I'll upload them.

Danny, I'm getting a codec error on the first movie and WMP can't even figure out what to look for. The other three play fine. What did you encode the first one with?

Edit: It played fine on the desktop. (Which has several years' worth of various nonstandard codecs installed, so the software is out there somewhere. I'm guessing DivX.)

Thank you Dave.
I learned something from this.
Round objects are hard to stab and cut. Round objects have a tendency to cause glancing, not just round, but spherical objects especially.
I had countless shuriken glance off that pumpkin before I got a good stick.
If anybody out there does tameshigiri, I'd recommend adding some good, hard, head-sized pumpkins to the cutting target list. You might even paper-mache the outside of the pumpkin to add to it's toughness.
They are silly, poorly-lit videos, but they do offer something of an eduction.

Actually, the stab was the easiest thing!
Cutting with a hanshee (tora calls this a crescent moon sirupati) is not as easy or at least it is different from cutting with a khukuri.
Well, they all take practice, though, dont they...

Those Senban Shuriken are scary!!

Call me old fashioned, but for the pumpkin stab, would use this;)

Yes it is. Bought two locally at auction as unfinished.
Figured I might learn something.
Sure did..my serious talent deficiency
Cost $60NZ the pair. ( Never been accused of being sensible!)

Will use this one for handle practice.

NOT FAIR!

Them little punkins was TIED UP!

I predict it would have been MUCH less one-sided if they were allowed to run around and fight back . . .

Seriously, interesting vids, esp. the stab. Fast arm you have, Danny. Thanks to Danny and Dave for sharing and hosting.

Noah

Fair would be: tie Danny up except for "sword arm" and drop pumpkins from 10,000 feet. :p

OK, one at a time. :D

BUT let's send adult pumpkins next time. Slaughtering the chillin' is lowdown. :D :D :D

(Support the Right to arm bears!)
