Ninth Circuit Panel Upholds California Switchblade Ban

Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that auto knives (switchblades) were legal arms under the Second Amendment, because folding knives were among the bladed tools and weapons "in common use" at the time of the American revolution and that a spring-operated opening mechanism did not increase the lethality of a knife. The decision was the result of David Canjura's arrest in Boston for assault and disturbing the peace after he argued with his girlfriend in public and the Boston police found a switchblade in his pocket. The switchblade charge was a felony. I have been a Massachusetts resident for most of my life and I never believed such a decision would be made in this notoriously liberal, hoplophobic Commonwealth. The Massachusetts automatic knife ban had been in place since 1957. It will take time and $$$, but I believe that California's switchblade ban will also be overturned.

I hope so just for the sake of common sense.
Personally I've never really felt like I was missing out, but I haven't actually ever explored the world of traditional automatic knives due to the law so who knows really.

Over the past few years we have been getting a number of minor constitutional wins here and there.
