Does anybody have a scoop on this upcoming new product? If this is posted somewhere else, please let me know.

I recently put in Nite Ize LED upgrades on a Mag Lite Mini AA, and it's a great improvement, at a very reasonable price.

What I like about this brand besides, ease of use and price, is how readily available it is, at brick and mortar (WalMart and REI), as well as internet stores.

Thanks!

Yea the AA replacement kit isn't too bad at all , certainly better than the original bulb but , dont expect the sun. The overall improvement wasnt that great , I think the best feature is longer life on your batteries as far as the AA goes.
I would like to see one for the AAA too.

TerrLUX makes some nice drop-in modules for the AA Mini MAG... very bright, uses a 1-watt Luxeon LED!

I would to see a head-to-head between EverLED and Nite Ize, and I hope flashlightreviews.com do an evaluation soon.

I have 4 Mini Maglites upgraded with the Nite Ize LED kit and 1 Mini Maglite upgraded with the TerraLux TLE-5 1 watt LED kit. The Nite Ize kit employs 3 low power LEDs. The TLE-5 uses a single Luxeon LED and is light is much, much brighter than the Nite Ize.

The TLE-5 costs 4 to 5 times the price of the Nite Ize and is available from several sources. I bought mine here:

I measured the current drawn by both upgrades and the brighter TLE-5 requires only slightly more current than the Nite Ize. Both will run for hours using alkaline batteries.

I tried the Nite Ize kit in some old Mini Mags. One smoked and burned out the first day. I removed the other kit and threw it away. I don't need a fire in my truck's glove box (highly unlikely but ya never know).

I just saw a short review of the NiteIze C/D cell drop in LED Upgrades, in the Reviews section on Candlepowerforums.com. Has anybody else seen or bought these at their local Target, WalMart, REI, or other retail outlets?
