I got my nitecore i4 charger last winter and recently it's started to mess up. It will only charge my newer 3400 pannies to ~3.6v but with my older ncr18650b's and with smaller batteries of will charge to full 4.2v. When I got it I replaced the tiny A/C cord (that couldn't supply the necessary current to charge 4 batteries at a time) with a heavier AWG cable from my cannon camera's charger so I know that's not the issue.

I've emailed nitecore a few times but have yet to hear back.

I know its the charger and not the batteries because I can charge them to full using either of my other chargers, its only the nitecore that won't charge them. Also I tried in all 4 slots, as well as charging them two at a time so the current is cut in half. Originally I wrote it off as my two newest ncr18650b's being bad but after charging them on my xtar and they had full termination I'm now looking a the charger.

I solved the problem [no help to Nitecore]!

I noticed the unit was getting very hot in one specific spot so I opened it up and noticed the big heavy component with lots of wraps of coils (I don't know the name of that component) but it was the source of all the heat and I knew that was the thing that was basicly a mini transformer and I followed its traces to the AC input so I switched over to using the 5vDC input to bypass that part and its working perfectly, good as new, I am able to charge 4 NCR18650B's (3400mAh) to full termination at a time without any heat or the unit resetting its self!
