I just got one of these from SMKW. Msrp - $37.99, their price $11.99.
Seems like a great knife, strong linerlock, tip-down carry clip, very comfortable in hand.

Does anyone else have this knife, and what are your thoughts?

I bought one from SMKW the other day. I was ordering some Schrades and that one looked interesting. Turned out to be a much better knife than I expected. Everyone I showed it to made a positive comment on it. What the heck is the "Gel" referring to? Just feels like rubber inserts on the handle to me.

"A blend of gel technology and premium aircraft grade aluminum in a handle that sets a new standard for maximum performance. The gel texture raises the bar by providing advanced griping technology. The handle is lightweight, durable and contoured for an ultra ergonomic grip. This knife has reinvented what high tech is all about."

I think it's a more "tech" way to say 'rubber'...sounds like some hype running around.

I wonder what heartless marketing guru came up with the "Schrade Cutlery® "Schrade Locks Its Doors" Commemorative Cliphanger™ & Truck Gift Set

Certainly wasn't part of the final finished goods stock purchased at auction.

Looks like you got one of the last Gel's. Says "Temporarily out of stock". I wonder just how long that will be?

Yeah, unlike running shoes where you can see and feel the gel, there's nothing but rubber on the scales. Still, very grippy and very nice looking, closed or open.

If someone wants one of these and there's none left, check out the Silhouette. Same knife, no rubber.
