Nitrogen Steels and Buck Knives?

I was just reading another thread and it got me to wondering if Buck has ever toyed with the idea of using either purely nitrogen steels like H1, LC200, and etc., or nitrogen containing steels like N680 or Vanax for some of their knives? It would be cool to have a rust proof Buck Knife. Can you imagine an LC200 119?

I think they have kicked that around but it's pricey and those costs have to be passed along to the customer. DM

I am sure your right. But, I know N680 is not expensive. I have two knives in that steel from another well respected US maker that I only paid $27 for on sale at KW. Of course, there are better and more expensive nitrogen steels out there and that would drive up the cost of the knives. Yet, I know Buck has made, and continues to make, knives that are a bit beyond the $50 mark. So, who knows?

I got a benchmade for $100 in n680, that really much different than a lot of other bucks prices. Hell I see spydercos in H1 for cheap all the time. I wish they would make knives in nitrogen steel. Im not fond of spydercos feel, I know it wont ever rust but their FRN handles just make them feel cheap especially for there more expensive versions. Benchmade only the blade is n680, the rest is just regular stainless
