Can someone please explain to me how a nitrous assisted folder works and it's propertieS?

How does it compare to a single action automatic knife?

Etc.

Thank you...

I currently own three nitrous strykers and love them:thumbup: There are several posts on the Benchmade forum that may explain better, but I will try.

The nitrous uses part of both liners as springs to keep the blade closed and kick it open. The liner springs are connected with a pin with a roller. When the blade is opened slightly using the thumb stud, the spring kicks the blade open the rest of the way. All my knives open very quick and hard just like the DA (leaf spring) autos I've owned.

Compared to a single action (coil spring) auto, they may be a bit slower opening. This is probably due to the spring only kicking the blade rather that being engaged the entire time.

The nitrous system seems very robust and gives the advantage of no coil springs to break.
