im moving to nj could i carry a spyderco police?

or would itbe a no no cause of its size?

NJ is not bad for knife laws (from experience and carrying for 15+ years). I have long carried an Emerson CQC8, not a small knife at all. My brother carried and used a police regularly, and used in front of actual police and was never questioned. Where in NJ?

South jersey camden county, sicklerville nj, about 30 miles from PA

The law as I understand it in NJ as far as knives go is carry what you want there is no restrictions on knives with the exception of gravity or automatics. However if you get caught commiting a "crime" regardless of what that crime is ie jaywalking they can charge you such as jaywalking with a deadly weapon. I'm sure most police officers wouldn't do that but if you piss them off or get the right one, who knows. That being said I've lived in nj for 12 years and carry a 4" blade most of the time and have never had a problem.

You'll get some looks from the people here. But all non-switchblade non-gravity-opened folders are legal here, including Cold Steel XL Magnum Force Tactical Overcompensators.

This may be a really dumb question but is a knife with a flipper considered a "gravity knife" in NJ? I've been carrying my ZT 0561 around since I got it

And I think that central and south Jersey have the more lenient interpretation of the law than up here in North jersey. I don't have anything to back that statement up, but I'd be less scared of getting caught down there than up here (with the exception of the shore towns and tourist areas)

Yea i wouldnt be surprised to see a more lenient look at the law in the south. Im just assumong crime is somewhat lower. Up north in the more populous cities are more likely to see knives used for weapons
