I recently moved to NJ and left my knife collection behind. It mostly consist of fixed blade tactical, hunting and diving knives. Few folders. Some biggies. Some double edged.

Question. I don't carry them EVER, (except my twitch I EDC which is with me right now) are they legal to POSESS at home?

All legal in your home and as outlined in the statutes (see 'Knife Laws of the 50 States' in the sticky, 1st post of the Knife Laws section). Nothing glaring. NJ seems about as sane as anywhere. The usual 'to and from' laws pertaining to the carrying of 'hunting' knives.
Your home is YOUR castle, though I have heard of all 'weapons' in a house being confiscated because a homeowner got stupid with one on the premises. Semi-extreme cases though....
you are probably OK....I guess....
I mean you SOUND sane...
like maybe...
you DO collect knives, how sane is that? :)

Well... knife collection with me now. You should've seen the face of ths USDA official when the luggage was scanned. I saw them wispering in each other ears something. I am sure they don't see that everyday!
