Hello everyone. Just out of curiosity, does anyone here in the Garden State enjoy watching or playing the sport of rugby football?

I'm not in NJ (thank God! ;):D), but I remain a rugby enthusiast. Retired loose-head prop here... gave 8 of my best years to playing, and my two hip joints too! Still wish I could kit up and go out and give it a go. The mentality never leaves you.

Ahh ya got me hopes up! Sorry to hear about your hips, I know how it feels like. Got banged up pretty bad on Saturday in a ruck... Are there lots of ruggers up in Illinois?

Retired flanker/prop here. Where are you in Jersey? I used to play in NYC. I also have a friend who is playing w/ Union County in Jersey.

i'm glad to see that real football is still played in the USA.

Here's some trivia for you: The USA are the reigning Olympic Rugby Gold medallists.

Exactly. Paris, France 1924. Thank you for remembering that.
A riot ensued. The US side had to be escorted out of the stadium by the police.
I used to carry the obituary of the last remaining man from that side in my wallet- died 1997.
