I don’t spend a lot of time in the pass around forum. When I stopped in and saw this little knife from Njj I just had to give it a try.

From the maker the specs are.
1095 Carbon Steel 0.125"
3" Blade with full flat grind
3.5 Black G10 handle with SS pins
Acid etched finish
Heat treated by Peters to 60RC
I have been working a lot and haven’t had much time to play. The day it came I played with it a little and took this picture.
The only one of the sheath. Very nice leather with good retention.
Some might find it bad form to show pictures of other knives when doing a review but I wanted help give a feel for the size proportions. As you can see I find this size knife very useful.
I don’t baton a lot & some will say it is not good for a knife I think as long as you don’t ask too much and use common sense it can be useful. Like when making a bow drill hearth.
Cutting Oak shaving for the fire.
I made a hearth and spindle from both willow and cottonwood. Here is the willow
The spine is square and I think it would strike a spark from a fero rod. I did not try as I did not want to mark up the knife. Or damage the finish. About the finish It looks good, Almost like a bluing. It is a even dark gray.
The square spine is my only complaint. I found it hurt my thumb in prolonged use.
The knife cut very well and bit deep when asked to.
With the thin stock & G10 the balance is back under the middle finger. Giving good control.
After I had the fire going I did some carving making tent stakes , trap triggers & just carving. The handle was comfortable in any hold I used & the fine point on the tip worked good for carving , notching.
I think this knife would be a good choice for anyone looking for a well made blade for
EDC / hunting / camping/ woods bumming.
Thank you Nick for letting me give this knife a try. I am looking forward to what others have to say. They are welcome to add on here.
