I just want to thank everyone who showed up at the NJKCA meeting last Sunday for being generous with their time and knowledge. It was nice to put faces with names from the online knife community, especially since I had never met any of these folks before.
Esav Benyamin, Ken C, Stabber Stabber's Steel Connection, Ron Labella from JDevils, Marty Miller from MM Customs, Magnum 22, amongst others.
Everyone had quite a collection of knives, impressive for it not being a knife show! I'd hasten to guess in excess of 300 knives, all for the drooling over. I got to handle a few I had been contemplating, and some I'd never knew existed (but now desire).
What surprised me was the lack of participation from folks in the TriState area. I drove an hour on the GSPKWY and thought it was worth my time; and expected to see more folks there. The location was easy on/off the GSPKWY; and the resturant folks were genuinely happy to have us. Now tell me how many places are out there like that these days, not many! I'm sure there was at least 12-15 people there during the highlight of the meeting, but still, lots of talkers/typers out here but not many willing to get in the car.
22, thanks for making those adjustments to my TecLock, explaining some things that I did not know; and sharing your knowledge and love for your knives.
Life got in the way of this post until tonight, but I was'nt going to let it go until I mentioned it. Thanks for putting it together KenC!
