NMFBM, FFBM or FBM?

Hey, I wanted to get some feedback from those who know...

If you were going to get one of these knives for a user - NMFBM, FFBM or FBM - which would you get and why? Yes, I know there are some who will just say "Get them all!" and I know that would be the best thing in an ideal world. However, for the sake of this discussion, lets say you had to choose just one - then which one. Truthfully, I prefer the "looks" of the FFBM or FBM with the grooves running the length of the blade as opposed to the NMFBM with the flat blade. However, that means nothing in utility. It just makes the knife look cool - or so I have been told!

What is the general advice here?

Thanks!

I guess I should have added the FBM Double Cut version as well.

Do you mean the FBM-LE ?

If so, I already asked this question a few days ago. The responses there would probably assist you in your decision. The thread was titled very similarly to yours.

Whichever one you can get for less than $500.00 is what I'd recommend. They'll all work great. I have a CG FBM with the CBT I use a lot. It works so well that my FFBM and NMFBM sit in the safe.

If I were going to carry it I would pick the CGFBM, that's the one with the bevels.

If I were going for maximum chopping power I would pick the NMFBM.

I second this. If you cant get the job done with a CGFBM, get an axe :D:thumbup:

CGFBM. I've had the others. Too heavy. The CGFBM is a great knife. I've found the others too heavy.

What do you want to do with it?

All around - CG FBM

Splitter - NMFBM (LE)

The FFBM is somewhere in the middle.

Just my 2 cents.

I just scored a NMFBM. If you're going to go big, you might as well go biggest !!

If you were more inclined towards a 6" blade that would be one thing, but if you are prepared to carry something as big as the CGFBM, might as well add the extra power of the NMFBM. It's a significant difference, like going from 9mm to .45.
