This is one beastly knife!
Out of the box the knife was very very sharp(great job on the edge Garth), and with hand smoothed scales it fit my hand just right.
Today took my new NMFBM out on a date
, she was hungry. I took on a fairly thick trunk and had a good work out chopping it in half.
I have to say this is a big knife, for strong hands. I am horribly out of shape and it shows in the vid, still the mistress performed extremely well.
At one point about half way through I found the sweet spot and the knife became very effective chopper. I was able to do very well with my left hand even.
I feel the NMFBM chops more efficiently and will do the job faster than the ASHBM, not significant difference, but one that can be felt.
The NMFBM is a knife for people with strong hands, it is ~32 oz (924g) and can tire a guy pretty fast. I guess ASHBM was made smaller to reduce weight and make it more user friendly.
With the handle I had no pinky bite issues at all, the ASHBM is a bit more bitey for me, I have to say, again, the handle is just perfect for my hand.
For me the NMFBM is the ultimate chopper.
