Finally got my NMs today! (I say "finally" only b/c I had to spend several days drooling over those received by others & posted here). These are BIG KNIVES that want to CHOP CHOP CHOP! Simply outstanding brute-power blades, all other choppers bow before them!

What is very interesting is that my LE is thicker than my CG (black micarta mags on black) but somehow feels more nimble, or better balanced? The LE measures .278" at the thumb ramp, whereas the coated CG measures .256". Subtract the coating and that's about .025" thicker INFI! For comparison, my CGFBM measures .244" in the same location, and handles like a paring knife compared to the bad-boy NMs. The LE is slightly heavier but just balances like a champ, plus it has that 100% badass full convex grind -- it just sings in the hand.

So now I am flummoxed. I was going to use the NMCG, stash the NMLE, and sell the CGFBM. But now I wanna chop down some walls with the LE - and then do a little whittling !! Oh, what to do . . . . .

I agree. My LE just feels better in my hand, but since I allready used one of my CG's it is going to be my user. To the safe with the LE.

What a wicked surprise that the LE's are closer to .280" !!! I gotta say I'm pretty in love with mine :thumbup:

Hmmm... if I'd known the CGs and LEs were going to be that different, I might have ordered both.

I got mine tonight, just opened 'em up a few minutes ago. Damn sweet. I think this is going to easily outchop the CG, IMO, and to me that's all this size knife is to be used for!

Post some pics when you beat her. Makes me regret no picking one up...

those nmfbm's r going to be worth a million bucks this time next year, don't tell my postman till after he drops mine off

.

And yes, my LE is visibly thicker than my CG. You can feel the difference through the handles as well. The LE and CG really are two different knives :) .

i'd keep the LE as the user because it "uses" the best and thats why one buys the best.whats the point in paying for INFI's great performance if you dont use it.you can safe queen the CG and still turn a pretty penny in the future since these are bound to cause a ruckus on the exchange considering prices.

Unfortunately for me, I don't have an LE, but I do have a CG that is a hell of a chopper. It's only about 0.23" thick with the coating, too, unless my measurements are way, way off. Didn't know there was going to be that large a difference  but I expected the typical variation in thicknesses between invididual knives, as that's always been the case before. I don't typically laugh at other people's misfortune, but I have to say I'm a bit amused now for all of the people that didn't buy the NMFBM because they thought it was too heavy to be practical! :D These CGs are lighter than an FFBM, but hit harder. The balance is about 2 cm forward from the choil.
