Got to hack on some trees today with my NMFSH. The knife is with factory edge still, and this is its first use ever.

As I was hacking away, it became clear I need to practice technique, and also a lanyard.

Small branches are fairly easy with this knife

After changing my technique a bit, the second go at the tree was easier:

I think the NMFSH cops better than the ASHBM, may be because it is lighter or the handle shape fits me better.
I hope toget to test them side by side soon, and I think an FBM might be the golden middle among the three. I need an FBM to test as well, hope I get lucky in that department.

My favorite Busse as of now, still have not had an opportunity to really put the knife through it's paces. Thanks for taking the time to make these video's!

Cool videos!!!! I was getting a blister on my hand just watching that :)

Seriously, the NMFSH is an amazing knife.

Very nice videos! The NMFSH is awesome -- not so sure it's a better chopper than the ASHBM, but it's definitely highly coveted here.

I have to get them both together and do a side by side. The ASHBM seemed a bit less aggressive when I tested it.

It seems there's some mixed reactions to the ASHBM. Someone mentioned in a recent thread that they experience vibration when chopping due to the drilled out tang. I however have not experienced this. I do think it's a better chopper than the NMFSH, but only ever so marginally. I think all this comes down to personal preferences, technique, hand sizes, strength etc... They are both MONSTER choppers regardless.

For me it felt that the ASHBM was just a tad less aggressive when chopping, and I suspect it needs edge adjustment to change that. I did not feel any vibrations with the ASHBM. Both knives have good handles, but IMHO I definitely need a lanyard when using the knives.
