I have seen what the ones from the run that shipped in Dec 2012 look like under the coating,maybe LE blanks as they looked so good. Who has stripped any from the run that shipped in May 2013. Thinking about doing mine but would like to see what some from that run look like under the coating.

I stripped mine and I got it in May of 2013. It was very, very clean looking. I wound up glass bead blasting it after I stripped but there was NO reason to do so, I just like that look. It was a looker after I stripped and even more so after the BB.

I say go for it. If yours will look as good as mine just after stripping you will be very happy. I will say this, the coating took longer to take off than I thought, that tanker grey was on there. I just stripped a WAKI today and that was a breeze.

IF a CG blade has a full height flat grind, then it is probably going to look pretty good stripped. It is usually the flats of the blade that are fugly with tool marks or dimples, since the CG blade blank does not get surface ground.
 
Stripped mine from the run that delivered in June. Looks nice. Pm me and I'll email you pics. Maybe I'll wake the gf and see if she can post em.
 
1" down from spine and 1" from cut in front of the handle I got 0.182"
 
The full flat grinds and full convex grinds tend to strip the best .. in my experience anyway.
