For the life of me, I cannot remember or find the thread saying what the slabs of the NMFSHLE are. Can anybody else?
I have emailed the shop about thinner slabs, to no avail. So, I am down to considering hand shaping the slabs myself. I have done it with Tigerhide Micarta, but I want to be sure of what I am working with. In addition, any helpful suggestions are welcome.
I know many prefer the mag slabs, but the do not suit me. Especially with INFI this thick. I have pretty meaty hands with CTS and nerve damage, so my hands fatigue easy. I want to be comfortable when swinging that monster into my firewood. Make my almost perfect chopper, well, perfect.

also, not 100% but I dont think you need a respirator like you need with g10.

Hand shaped will be nice. BP is grippier than G10 to start, and hs g10 isa tad grippier than machined imo cause your hand contacts more surface area of the handle.

I am curious how does the handshaped handle compare to the machined one?

I do not own a handshaped but here are my observations:

The NMFSHLE has normal deep grooves the standard black paper handle. Feels good, nothing new here.
The CGNMFSH has a lot shallower grooves in the machined handle. Is this something new?

I have a CGNMFSH with both canvas micarta, and G10. I don't really like the canvas micarta, but the G10 feels great.

It feels like the shallow grooves is the perfect balance. It has a great feel which fits very nicely with the contours of my hand, but still have some grooves to make it quite grippy. Especially when using gloves.

al g blenny you seems to have tried both. May I ask how and why does it feel better?

As I mentioned I have only machined, but with the very shallow grooves, the difference must be quite small?
