I got my NMFSHLE a couple of days and love it !! It's very similar to the FBM with the same thickness, handles and similar length.

I pulled a couple out of the safe and did a little shoot with a few amazing friends :D

I like it :)
The drop on the point of the SHs is not as dramatic as I thought.

Fantastic comparison photos.

From the description it does sound like the NMFSH is basically an FFBM with the point lowered to more of a spear point and the blade shortened by about 3/4"?

Can you see any advantage the NMFSH might have over the FFBM? Given how much FFBM's have appreciated in price, certainly it looks like the CG NMFSH is being offered at a very attractive price point and probably will do anything an FFBM can do for quite a bit less money, but I just wonder after having an NMFSH in hand alongside an FFBM if there's any apparent functional distinction between the two?

Thanks,
Will

I think the FBM has more steel in the blade especially near the tip making it a bit harder on the wrist, that's just my opinion. I used to have a FBM LE from the 07 run and I felt it was a bit unwieldy as where the NMFSHLE is much easier to swing. This is a good thing as the CG version has the same specs, I can hardly wait to get mine!

I was thinking nearly the same...My fbmle is just slightly blade heavy if balanced from the talon hole. So, I would expect this slightly shorter version to be more neutral to maybe even a little handle heavy making it more agile and a little easier to handle with smaller task. Just theory cause I dont have mine yet:)

ETA: Awesome pics of a great collection Rob:thumbup:

Maybe its my imagination but the NMFSH LE seems to be pretty light in spite of the 5/16 thick spine.
The grind kinda reminds me of the SARGE 7 as it seems... dare I say... thin.

Rob,

Great pictures -- thanks for putting them up here!

I have two NMFSHLE's -- the only two knives I own with the Fusion handle. It looks like all the knives in your pictures have the Fusion handle. Is there much difference in grip feel between the different knives, based either on variations in blade or handle thickness, or do all of the knives feel pretty similar? I'm not talking about blade length or balance point, or even handle material, just the length and thickness of the slabs themselves.

John
