Hi guys. Well as many of you know I really like the SFNO. Now that the NMSFNO is out I am very interested in what you guys think of it. Specifically looking for feedback from those of you that have used one.

My current set up is an AK (for the Zombies ), an FFBM (the heavy stuff), and my NO-E (all-arounder).

Now I do not need to do as much chopping as some of you Hogs as I am sadly stuck in the city for the foreseeable future. And I can do almost everything I need to do with the NO-E aide from heavy chopping. So the NMSFNO looks like it would be a nice all arounder as well.

Let me know how you guys use or see it being used, its pros and cons, etc...

That way if I am convinced I can grab one at a good price still.

Thanks all.

TL, I'll be up front... I haven't used it yet, but as ya know, all my #27's are already, or will become users. I am looking forward to taking the NMSFNOLE #27 out for a romp once it warms up a bit, but when my SFNOLE's arrived, I pulled out the NM version, and hefted it back & forth with the SFNOLE... And I'm having trouble determining which is the heavier one! It HAS to be the NMSFNOLE... Right??? If so, it is by less than I thought it would be, but with the extra inch for better chopping (I hope!). It kinda reminds me of an SH-e with an SFNO handle. :) I'm thinking that the same would apply to a NMSFNO and a sabre ground SFNO CG (coated).

In my inexperienced opinion, if I were you, I'd grab one while the grabbing is good... 'Cause ya KNOW that they aren't going to be offered for much longer! This one surprised me... I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do.

I'm not a Busse connoisseur like many here. But I have a fair degree of common sense and all-around basic decision-making. (I'm really not trying to sound arrogant.)

I've been thinking of purchasing a Busse blade (at least the larger, leaf-shaped choppers the company is known for) for a few years now. I owned an E-series SH for a while and found those baldes to be too 1-dimensional-- sharpened prybar basically. (Literally)

But nothing had come down the pike that thoroughly caught my eye as far as all-around features and much less importantly, cosmetics, were concerned.

The NMSFNO satisfies the former and the LE version satisfies the latter. It is a frickin' unbelievable blade. You've got the cosmetics of the satin finish, rolled edges, 8-inch blade, and hand-shaped tiger hide micarta slabs, with the practicality of the full convex edge and overall size. It's plenty large enough to chop with, but not so long that it becomes a 1-dimensional chopper. It's a impressive .22" thick, but not so thick that it wouldn't slice well. We all know by now what the .18" ASH can handle for punishment, so an extra .04" ain't too shabby.

The full convex edge came scary sharp on my model. Very sharp with that added "appleseed" shaped durability.

Unfortunately I haven't taken any pictures of it. I apologize. And I haven't used it yet (only have had it three weeks).

To me, the 8-inch blade can do everything a BM can do, just not as quickly. But the 8-incher will wear better and be more versatile in the field. It's outstanding.

If you are going to spend $400 on a knife (CG version), you might as well drop another $200 and get the LE. You can't be disappointed.

I have not gotten to use mine yet, but it is easily my favorite Busse so far:thumbup:

Best blade I've handled so far. It batons through thick tamarack and birch like nobodies business then strips kindling like butter. I keep one in the car at all times and one in my bag. For me this has become the ONE knife that does it all. The size gives it just enough to be used as a draw knife, enough blade for splitting half rounds, thin enough for smaller tasks, fits my hand in mutliple positions, small enough to carry without causing too much attention. I've used it daily for at least a month now. I only had to lightly touch it up on stone once. Otherwise, just some light strokes on steel to keep it razor sharp. Get one now and if you don't like it, sell it later.

But then again, I've only been playing with Busse knives for 3 months now and I have more to try on the way. Yeah, I'm an addict. You won't be dissappointed. I'll have some user pics up soon.

i can't really add anything that hasn't already been said, but i agree with pretty much all of it. nice size, weight, heft. excellent edge from the factory for a chopper. 'tis an superb all arounder.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the NMSFNOs. Nothing. It's fantastic. My favourite Busse so far. Large enough to chop with, easy to baton with, but it's also light and ergonomic enough to do the small tasks with not too much fatigue and difficulty. So, if you like an all-rounder or The One Knife, the NMSFNO is that knife. And the tip isn't monster thick like on the FFBMs for example, so it makes a good knife for sticking things with. :D The LE looks better, and it has an even thinner tip, so... The CGs are more economical, though, and I find myself using the CG more. Machined mags for the handles to save on the price.

Ah, so you've got one of the thin ones as well. ;) The factory spec was approx. .25" but I do find the thinner spine pretty handy, lowers weight.

I have not used mine yet.

For now though I love the feel of her
when I fondle her.

Ah, so you've got one of the thin ones as well.

Well, I haven't actually measured it; I'm just assuming so because everyone else's was around .22-.23" (LE version).

so you all prefer the LE over the CG?

The CG is obviously an awesome blade, too; as you can see by all the photos. But the LE is just downright impressive looking. Pony up the extra $200.

Too late, they're GONE!! Pulled from the site as of 3:30pm today...
If someone still wants a CGNMSFNO, better hustle over to the BCS and get 'em while the getting is good!

Any more user feedback? Are the NMSFNOCG's and the NMSFNOLE the same size?

I was just looking at this last night...
They really appear to be the same to the naked eye.

Same balance as well.

I'm really thinking about picking up another CG from Stinky. :)
