Here are a couple shots of an Arctic White + Black Canvas Micarta NMSFNO, with hand-shaped and machined handles:

I may actually prefer the machine-shaped handles. They look better, in my opinion, and I think they also offer more grip. At the least, I don't think the hand-shaped handles are worth an additional $60. Now the hand-shaped handles on my custom SFNOs, on the other hand, those feel much better than regular machined handles. I'm not totally sure what the difference is, but I can feel it. Maybe the hand-shaped on my customs swell the palm more, whereas the ones on the NMSFNO basically have the same shape as the machined handles, with just a little material rubbed off uniformly across the slabs.

I may have to pick up another one of these before they go away. Has anyone used the arctic white yet? How does it hold up compared to the standard coatings? I'm torn between the white, sage, and green for another.

White ... its the New Black!!

Nice pics - thanks for the comparison shots:thumbup:

These pics may actually convince me to get one on these NMSFNOs...

REALLY diggin' the White with Black Machined Micarta!

Thanks, I think you hit the nail on the head.

Great pics as usual. I love the machined micarta. Feels the best and works great. The NMSFNO is the best balance of size, wt and utility of the Busse's I've owned IMO.

Great pictures as usual Ken. I'm interested in which you prefer the feel of too.

I've got a machined on the way, which I *think* I prefer the look of; but I do wonder if smooth would make a better user grip. Fewer hot spots as I don't wear gloves is what I'm thinking.

Hmmm... Can't wait to get my hands on mine - should be this week now.

Well, I blame Ken for twisting my arm until I ordered a black machined on arctic white NMSFNO. I like this knife too much to just have one.

I like the look of the machined grips but for heavier blades and chopping the hand chaped has less hot spots for me

Along the lines of handles and balance of the knife: I was comparing the NMSFO to the SFO that I have and although I have not measured it seems that the NMSFO has a much thicker blade profile with a shorter bevel than the SFNO. This makes it much heavier overall and much more blade heavy than the SFNO which should make it a better chopper.
Or, am I completely out of my mind, as usual?
