Why isn't the NMSFNO called a NMFSH? It's the same length as an FSH and looks the same to me except for the nuclear treatment. There must be a logical explanation, thus my inquiry.

Aren't the handles different? And the blade shape slightly different?

Yes and Yes,

the NMSFNO doesn't have a fusion handle, so it can't be a NMFSH.

And think of a battle mistress, the fatties had 10 inch blades and were saber grind, the NMFBM has an 11.5 inch blade and is full convex. The original natural outlaws had a 7 inch blade and were saber grind while the NMSFNO have an 8 inch blade and are, full convex. So the same principal.

As a side note, a NMFSH would be pretty cool

Thanks for clearing that up and refraining from hooting me with gusto. I had done a lot of clicking around this site and the Busse Collector site and it hadn't been clear enough to me (blade shape and handle difference). I was aware of the NMFBM vs. FBM length differences so realized there was something else I was missing.

I have a few FSHs and others, and my first SFNO (SOW) is in transit. Still new to this and enjoying the learning.

Here is a HOGFSH (left) and a NMSFNO (right).
